Thanks to our first major donation of Rescue equipment from PT Hydraulics Australia (http://www.pthydraulics.com.au), we were able to send approx. $30,000 AUD worth of decommissioned technical rescue equipment to the Pitakkarn Foundation. This equipment which includes heavy vehicle rescue equipment, will go on to assist the crews in extricating patients from traumatic vehicle accidents, improving outcomes with modern equipment. This type of donation is the core function of HNH, and was only made possible thanks to Garry and his team. We consider PT Hydraulics Australia a true friend and a true Hero! The Pitakkarn Foundation was also able to assist the Australian and New Zealand Governments, by providing First aid/Defib medical coverage at the 2014 ANZAC Day Parades. This will be an ongoing commitment from Pitakkarn, a way for the crews to say thanks to those from Australia who have already assisted, for which they are forever grateful!
- THAILAND DAP 2013/14. An Australian Federal Government Grant, issued by the Australian Embassy in Thailand. With this money we were able to finalise and implement plans for our initial program. This program has seen HNH purchase 8 x CPR Training Mannequins, a ‘Train the trainer’ CPR/First Aid course, and also our very first Automatic External Defibrillator. HNH implemented CPR training in National parks that are considered high tourist destinations, in which over 100 Park Rangers have successfully been training in life saving CPR, through the direct assistance from our HNH DAP. Eight frontline Heroes of the Pitakkarn Foundation (ambulance and rescue service in Kanchanaburi), were trained to deliver this program. There are also plans to teach regional school students, lifesaving first aid and CPR in the near future. Pitakkarn will also be carrying an AED within their ambulance response vehicles. No doubt this piece of equipment, which is the first portable defib being utilized in Kanchanaburi, will save countless lives, again thanks to the DAP and implementation of early defibrillation.
- Our next DAP Grant is already in the making… stand by for exciting news!
